Fill the trap with the attractant:
Hold the cord, press the latch and pull up to remove the roof. Put the lid on, hold the cord, squeeze the latch and slide it down.
Precautions:
Assembling the collection containers: Slide in the direction of the arrow.
Separate the collection containers: Turn the collection container approximately 30 degrees to the left or right and remove it. Be careful when removing the collection container! Hornets can come out of holes.
Trap location:
- Near the apiary
- If the internal temperature of the collector is high, hornets cannot be captured
- Place the trap in shaded areas to the left and right of the apiary
- Avoid direct sunlight
- Place the trap on the hornets' flight paths

Benefits:
The BeeVital hornet trap is very selective. Only the hornets remain trapped!
Insects and bees can easily escape through the small holes in the bottom or sides of the trap. The insects are never in contact with the attractant (important for the health aspect depending on the attractant).
Hornets stay alive for a while and attract other hornets with their pheromones!
When to use it:To capture fertilized (founding) hornet queens, it is necessary to do so very early in spring, from mid-February in temperate regions.
Since the trap is very selective, you can leave it in place all year round to also capture the hornet workers. In autumn, for the capture of mated hornet queens, from October in most regions.

Assemble the trap following the instructions (notes).
Pour the attractant into the hole, wetting the white lines next to the holes.
When using for the first time, pour the attractant up to half the container (approximately 400 ML). The hornets, attracted by the liquid (attractant), enter through the entrance holes at the top and move along the container. They are then captured in the collection chambers. The pheromones of captured hornets will attract other hornets.
It is recommended to place the trap in the hornets' passages, in shaded areas, to the left and right of the hives and/or suspended from a tree (place the trap on a rope between two trees or on a branch). Avoid direct sunlight.
Refill the attractant regularly to maintain the attractiveness of the traps. Simply pour a small amount of liquid into the holes provided with the white sticks, but ensure that the container always remains half full. (Especially in case of high temperatures). Empty it completely and refill it only when the attractant has deteriorated significantly and no longer attracts hornets.
BV attractant for hornet traps:
This attractant is entirely composed of natural fermented plant extracts and sweet substances.
It attracts a lot of insects, which causes a commotion around the trap which attracts even more hornets.
And since all insects, except hornets, can come out, it is very effective.
Dosage:400 ml for one trap when first used.
